Jo-Anne Gaughan-Cabral has 25 years of social work experience, 18 of those years working as a psychotherapist providing treatment to nursing home residents with New England Geriatrics. Prior to her work with NEG, she was the Director of the Dual Diagnosis Program at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT, and a social worker at Providence Hospital in Holyoke, MA. Most recently Jo-Anne served as Regional Program Director for New England Geriatrics. In this role she oversaw the psychiatric teams of four inpatient geriatric psychiatric units.
Jo-Anne has extensive individual and group therapy experience with a variety of populations. An area of clinical expertise for her is working with cancer patients and their families. Within our organization Jo-Anne serves as clinical lead for our cancer informed therapy program. This program works with local cancer treatment facilities to provide therapeutic services for clients in need.
As Co-Clinic Director, Jo-Anne provides supervision to our clinicians and clinic interns. She works one on one with our students to ensure they receive a comprehensive educational experience. Jo-Anne received her BSW from Elms College and her MSW from the University of Connecticut. She is married, and has two sons who are in college.
