Geriatric Mental Health
Did you know that less than 4% of people over the age of 65 years old are in nursing homes? WCFC is here to assist the 96% of elders who need assistance while maintaining their independence. Our team provides a variety of services that will allow our clients to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the least restrictive environment possible.
At times life can become overwhelming, especially for those transitioning into an elder lifestyle. Our team is here to provide support and compassionate solutions to our geriatric clients. We offer therapy to those struggling with a variety of mental health issues including late life depression, anxiety, issues of grief and loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Since these issues can affect the entire family, we also offer individual, couples, family and caregiver therapy.
West Central Family & Counseling’s team of prescribers offers medication management to the geriatric population. Nearly 92% of older adults are prescribed daily medication. Our prescribers have worked with many older clients, and are able to provide state-of-the-art pharmacology to this population.
